I just found out that my contract is not being renewed at AT&T and my last day is on Monday, so blogging may be sporadic or it may be heavy.
I will take the opportunity to make a political statement though.
AT&T is not renewing any contractors in any department in my (significant) section of the company. It’s an economic decision, clearly. Even so, I’m still very optimistic about the economy. Are things dicey? You bet. But don’t listen to what the doom & gloom democrats are telling you. The economy is not that bad.
There’s a phenomenon that happens in politics both with the economy and with politicians. People listen to (and absorb) propaganda and the way they perpetuate it is by saying things are bad for everyone else, even though they are fine. They always see others as being in dire straits but will say that they are doing ok themselves. It is the same way with their congressmen. They will say that congress needs to be changed, but their own congressman is just fine.
Don’t buy the hype and don’t drink the kool-aid. The vast majority of people are genuinely doing great. Some are hurting, but some are always hurting. There’s uncertainty, to be sure. Am I a little scared? Sure. But I have no reason to fear beyond the normal unknown.
If I can be optimistic about the economy when I have 6 children at home and soon to have no work, anyone can.

New blog domain and software. If you don't want to read the details, scroll down to what's in bold for the essential stuff.
I've decided to rebrand my blog toward something more permanent, without regard to any special meaning. As such, The Whole Bird is now more simply Christopher Estep's America. It's to the point and you can't get more personal than that.
Many great people will tell you that if you believe something is true and right then you should put your own name behind it and that's precisely what I'm doing.
I've also dumped dasBlog. It served its purpose...well, mostly. I've decided to switch to something that's a lot more maintainable from a programming standpoint as well as something that doesn't feel like it's forked from 4 separate projects. So I've chosen BlogEngine.Net, if anyone cares. It's got its quirks as well, but it suits me and is flexible enough for me to maintain without feel like I'm doing medieval brain surgery.
Posts have been light (aka nonexistent) the past few days as a result and may be light this week too. I'm trying to reconstruct as many of the external links that The Whole Bird has since that's how I got the subscribers I did. Rest assured though, everything that's on the old site is here intact. I'm also going to try to pull the posts from The Right Side so I can have all of my political postings in one place.
As for the feed, I've changed the feed source, so if you're reading this with an RSS feed, you'll still continue to receive it. You may wish to resubscribe to the new feed though. I'm pretty sure I can painlessly redirect it so if you just want to wait it out you should be fine.
The new web site is www.christopherestep.com and I'm pretty sure that this one won't ever change. :)

I highly doubt that is the case, but when you see the following screen from the company founded on the motto, "Don't Be Evil" you have to wonder:

Prayer for Kennedy | The Daily Conservative
Thanks to the Daily Conservative for its recognition of my thought-provoking "tribute" to soon-to-be-former Senator Kennedy.

I've taken two of the bumper stickers I've made and made them available for sale. If you like them, feel free to buy one. There will be more stickers and other items soon. Forgive the look of the store, I only put it together tonight and well, I do have a day job too unfortunately.
It's my hope to come up with a few every week or more often as I come up with something funny. Feel free to offer any suggestions as well.

...at least that's how I feel.
I've been very sick (as in, I didn't get out of bed at all) since late Wednesday and am only now getting up and around. New posts will be coming today, especially since it's a multiple Obamagasm Tuesday.

As I mentioned before, I've been moving. Well, in the process of that, I hurt the forefinger on my right hand pretty good.
You never realize just how hard it is to blog with 9 fingers until you have to do it. It's my hope to get a few posts up today though. I just don't know if they'll be as verbose or thorough as I'd like because I'm only at 90% capacity (and 50% efficiency).

As expected, my internet access died last Friday, but it turned out to be a bigger pain that it should have The short story is that I no longer have AT&T as my phone or internet provider and Comcast is now how I connect.
I'll start posting later today and we'll be back to my regular (non)schedule.

AT&T (who is not only my DSL provider but is also my source of money) is scheduled to move (and upgrade) my DSL service today (12/21) and there's a very distinct possibility that it will prevent me from being online for anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Rest assured, I'll be back and posting as soon as I can, should the outage occur.
