Not that I would be devoid of all ethics and do what he did, but if I were in Rod Blagojevich’s position right now, I would have some fun with this. Let’s look at some facts:
- In this country, we are innocent until proven guilty.
- Rod Blagojevich is still the governor of Illinois
- Blagojevich can still legally appoint Obama’s replacement and is the only person alive who can.
- If he appoints someone to the Senate, there’s nothing anyone outside the senate who can do something about it.
- The senate could refuse to seat a Blagojevich appointment which could be politically hazardous.
Now, if Rod wanted to just go out with a bang and through everything up in the air, he should make that appointment and that appointment should be Jesse Jackson. No, not the son. The dad.
For Blagojevich to appoint someone, the person would have to accept and would also have to be seated by the senate.
Jesse Jackson would accept. That’s where the fun would begin. There’s no way the senate would refuse to seat him. He’s a black civil rights personality! They wouldn’t dare. Jackson also brings the assurance that any criticism would be answered loudly and personally.
And don’t underestimate the humor value of Jesse Jackson in the senate. The seat’s going to be liberal anyway, it might as well be entertaining!!

Rather than be yet another blogger who posts the story you undoubtedly already know, I thought I’d add my own personal touch to the coverage:

Former SNL regular Al Franken is on the verge of stealing a seat in the United States Senate. Strong words? Erick at RedState illustrates just why strong words are accurate:
1. 32 absentee ballots were found over the weekend with a Democratic Party operative. We don't really know from where other than the operative's car. The judge involved let the votes be counted.
2. In Mountain Iron, MN, the local Democrat machine discovered 100 ballots that needed to be counted. All 100 of the ballots went for Obama. And all 100 of the ballots went for Franken. Let's leave out the round number, which in and of itself should raise suspicions. No part of Minnesota, including the Iron region north of Duluth up to Canada (that part of the state heavily influenced by machine politics on the left) saw straight party voting between Franken and Obama. Sure there were some. But for a group of Democrats to pull out 100 ballots and have 100% go Obama and Franken defies the odds.
The sad part is that we’ve become so used to Democrat election fraud that nobody is even surprised anymore.
