Fearing President Obama: 4-Foreign Policy

I don’t need to go into much detail for this one.

  • Voted to defund the troops even when his own running-mate said it would kill soldiers.
  • Agreed to sit down with our enemies without preconditions, a suggestion called naive by numerous of his own party, including his running mate.
  • Opposed the surge, said the surge failed, then supported the surge saying he always thought it would succeed.
  • Stated he would invade Pakistan without consent in order to find bin Laden.
  • Received endorsements from (and I’m not even kidding) Hamas, Fidel Castro, and Hugo Chavez.  It gets worse.  Jimmy Carter endorsed him too.

Barack Obama running the military is like a kid playing with his dad’s gun.

Olympic History is Made - Bush Deserves Credit

Afghanistan has won its first ever Olympic medal.  Let me say that again.  Afghanistan has won it's very first medal.  Ever.

Just a few short years ago, the Taliban was beatingits own people for celebrating during soccer games.  If Bush hadn't had the will to liberate Afghanistan, this wouldn't have been even remotely possible.

Congratulations to the Afghanis!

McCain Leading Obama in Likely Voter Poll

Those who follow polls and follow history know that polls are of dubious validity.  They rely on a variety of factors, including:
  1. Size of the sample
  2. The phrasing of the questions
  3. The options given the polled populace
But the most important factor in determining if a poll has any value at all is the actual sample they are polling.  When you read a news story about a poll, pay particular attention to whom they are seeking their opinion.  They will use phrases like, "in a poll of registered voters" or "in a poll of those who are of voting-age" but the most reliable (if any can be called reliable) is "likely voters".  These are individuals who specifically state that not only are they registered, but they are likely to vote.  The pollster can further refine that sample by using restrictions such as "those who voted in 2004" or some such.

So it is not insignificant that in a poll of likely voters, McCain is now leading Obama.

McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama's solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll.

It's not possible to understate the significance of this trend.  Obama should be destroying McCain.  Obama's dynamic, good looking, likable, and he generally says all of the right things.  And yet cranky old McCain with the weird bulge on his face, raspy voice, and a limp is actually beginning to lead.  Four years ago, Kerry was destroying Bush in the polls.

My assessment is that Obama is overexposed.  I believe that the media adulation of him and the rabid nature of his Kool-aid drinking supporters are beginning to cause great suspicion in the minds of likely voters.  I saw a bumper sticker that said, "I already have a savior. I want a President" and I think that summarizes it quite nicely.

The fact is that the adulation being heaped upon Obama is not believable.  The media and democrats are daily extolling his virtues such as leadership but they don't ring true.  The arrogance and total lack of humility shown by Obama is more evident every day.

But most importantly, I suspect that foreign affairs play a significant role in this turnaround.  When push comes to shove, a lot of people will question whether a 1st term senator is really capable of protecting us in an aggressive world.  More and more people are finding that Obama has led nothing and has absolutely zero foreign policy experience.

Obama is shiny.  Obama is new.  And the shine is beginning to wear off.

Spanish Basketball Team Makes Racist Photo

When I saw this picture, I at first thought it was something from the 60’s.  Nope!

The Spanish basketball team posed for a pre-Olympics photo by mocking the eye shape of Asians.

Unbelievable.    Ironically, I used to live in a city that whose high school team was formerly the “Pekin Chinks” and no, I'm not kidding.

10 Questions Obamakova cannot and will not answer

Via Doug Ross @ Journal, apparently swiped from somewhere else….

Parkway Rest Stop provides a conduit to these ten questions:

1. Why does Senator Obama advocate a surge of troops in Afghanistan though he considers a surge of troops in Iraq to have been a mistake?
2. Why is a stable Afghanistan crucial to US interests while a stable Iraq is not?
3. How long does Senator Obama expect to keep troops in Afghanistan?
4. Why is an open-ended commitment in Afghanistan manageable while the same in Iraq is not?
5. How much does Senator Obama expect to spend rebuilding Afghanistan?
6. Why is rebuilding Afghanistan affordable while rebuilding Iraq is not?
7. Why does Senator Obama consider the ethno-sectarian issues in Iraq to be nearly intractable while in Afghanistan they are something we can overcome?
8. If leaving Iraq will make the Iraqi government behave more responsibly, how will an increased presence in Afghanistan affect the Afghan government?
9. Why does Senator Obama advocate a “surge in diplomacy” and multilateralism in Iraq while simultaneously advocating unilateral action in the Pakistani tribal areas?
10. How large of a “residual force” will be left in Iraq and for how long?

Be afraid. Be Very Afraid

The Obamapalooza world tour should frighten every American.  Seriously.  For instance:

Berlin Obama Poster

obamafest button

This is scary on a few levels.  Think about it for a moment.  This is a United States Senator campaigning for the office of President on foreign soil. I can accept the “touring the world” idea on some level, but there’s no excuse for campaigning in other countries!

Do you think these people have America’s best interest at heart or their own?  Do you think these people love America?  I was reading a blog description where the person attended the rally in Berlin.  One comment which most people probably wouldn’t notice struck me as very telling:

A few American flags and prohibited banners come into view - and I wonder how these folks got through security....

And this is what we should look at and emulate?  Part of the problem with Americans living abroad is that too many of them have “gone native” in that they may retain citizenship but they have rejected the distinct American culture in favor of their hosts.  I cannot imagine ever wondering how American flags and “prohibited banners” (whatever that is supposed to mean) got past security and then being ok with that.

200,000 people came to Berlin to help elect an American.  Yes, some were Americans abroad, but Barack Obama is indeed campaigning outside the United States.  He is doing indirectly what he is prohibited from doing directly, and that’s solicit the support of those who have no place in our society.

Does anyone aside from the Obama Kool-Aid drinkers really believe that this wasn’t a fund raising trip in addition to a campaign rally?  There is nothing preventing foreign nationals from indirect support through paraphenalia purchases and other sales.  And those who are selling these Obama items (and who knows what else) then channel the money to the Obama campaign or a 527 group.

It’s no different than giving money to a terrorist front.  The front may have a legitimate legal purpose, but the reality is that the funds support the terrorists.

The cult of personality is the most frightening thing about this man, even more than his lack of experience.

I'm Right Again: No More Truce With Hamas

Duh!  It didn’t take a prophet to see this one coming:

Palestinian militants on Tuesday fired three homemade rockets into southern Israel, the first such attack since a cease-fire between Israel and Gaza militants took effect last week.

Israel condemned the attack as a "gross violation" of the truce, but did not say whether it would retaliate.

The barrage wounded two people and capped a day of violence that presented the truce with its first serious test.

Just before midnight, Palestinian militants fired a mortar shell into an empty area in southern Israel. And in a pre-dawn raid, Israeli troops killed two Palestinians in the West Bank city of Nablus.

Hamas and Israel Truce? Right.

I realize this is supposed to be in English, but allow me to use my elite bullplop-to-English translation skills.  “You stop shooting at us long enough to regroup so we can start killing you”.

Is there anyone who thinks this is for real?

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - The Gaza Strip's ruling Hamas militant group on Tuesday said it has reached a cease-fire with Israel meant to halt a violent cycle of Palestinian rocket attacks that have killed seven Israelis over the past year and Israeli reprisals that have killed more than 400 Palestinians.

The Egyptian-brokered accord, set to go into effect Thursday, has the bigger aim of ending Israel's yearlong economic blockade of Gaza and bringing home a captive Israeli soldier. But the phased approach is prone to pitfalls, and past truces have quickly broken down. Israel cautiously promised a "new reality" if the rocket fire ends.

Waters and Chavez, Sittin' in a Tree....

If you think for a moment that the democrats are anti-capitalism and pro-communism, just watch Maxine-of-the-Hood for a moment:

Before you click, though.  Look at the second guy from the right.  Doesn't he look just like Mo Rocca?  Now where did I put my Ritalin?

Make no mistakes.  This is about two things and two things only.  It's about envy (because oil companies have money) and it's about power (because democrats never have enough of it).  In a very real sense, Waters (C-CA) wants to do the very same that Hugo Chavez did when he took over the oil industry in Venezuela.

Wake up, people!!!  This is our congress!!!  This isn't some little banana republic, this is our own country!!!

Barack Obama Bumper Sticker VIII

Obama and Chamberlain: Appeasing Dictators since 1937!

It's a good thing that Democrats are so mad about Obama being backhandedly called an appeaser.  It shows that we've found an issue that they know will stick.

This one has legs, my friends!
